It's not difficult to receive internet radio stations. You can get news and information from these stations you won't hear in the mainstream media. Your Windows media player is the most common method of listening to them. There are many other players that will play internet radio.

If you don't like or can't use the Windows Media Player; the WinAmp player is popular and free.

One of the larger sites with stations listed around the world is Shoutcast. There are many others and a web search will find them. Icecast broadcasting works in a similar fashion.

When you go to the Shoutcast site you can choose a genre to listen to. For our purposes I'll choose the "talk" genre from the drop down list. Then click search.

I now get a list of stations and I see the "next" link at the bottom of the page which will take me to the next page list of stations.

I'll now page through the list and find "We the People" then click the tune in button.

Now I have the choice of either opening the station or saving the ".pls" file. The .pls file means playlist. If I save the file in a convenient folder I can open the stations I like without having to go to the Shoucast website.

Some of the .pls files change periodically and sometimes the broadcasts are intermittant so be persistant to find the stations you like.
